Programme Officer - Human Rights Protection Programme

 

Lorraine Ochiel is a Programme Officer under the Human Rights Protection Programme. She is a human rights lawyer with four years working experience in the civil society sector including advocacy for protection of women’s political and social rights, legislative review and reforms and legal research. Before joining ICJ Kenya, Lorraine worked with the Federation of Women Lawyers – FIDA Kenya as a Programme Officer - Women and Governance programme.

Lorraine is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with four years post-admission experience. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from Moi University and a post-graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She holds certificates in Trial Advocacy - Anti-Corruption, Money Laundering and Terrorism by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy based in Colorado, Resource Mobilization and Results based Monitoring and Evaluation by Africa Excel Consultant Services respectively. She is currently concluding a Masters in Gender and Development at the University of Nairobi. She is a member of Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Kenya) and the Law Society of Kenya.
